Problem B. 3910. (April 2006)

B. 3910. AB is a diameter in the circle k. Choose an arbitrary point E in the interior of the circle. The other intersections of the lines AE and BE with the circle are C and D, respectively. Prove that the value of the expression AC.AE+BD.BE is independent of the position of E.

Megoldás: Ha az E pont az AB szakaszon helyezkedik el, akkor AC=DB=AB, vagyis a kifejezés értéke AB(AE+BE)=AB2. Egyébként jelölje az AEB szöget \alpha. Thalesz tétele értelmében az ADE háromszög derékszögű, vagyis ED=AEcos (180o-\alpha)=-AEcos \alpha. Ugyanígy EC=-BEcos \alpha. Ezért a koszinusz-tétel alapján most is

AC.AE+BD.BE=(AE2+EC.AE)+(BE2+ED.BE)=

=AE2+BE2-2AE.BEcos \alpha=AB2.
