Problem C. 1028. (March 2010)

C. 1028. ABC is an equilateral triangle in the plane. Consider the plane figure formed by the points for which the distance from vertex A is not greater than the side of the triangle and the distances from vertices B and C are not smaller than the side of the triangle. By what factor is the area of the figure greater than the area of the triangle?

A félkör területe \(\displaystyle \frac{a^2\pi}2\). Egy 60°-os körszelet területét megkapjuk egy \(\displaystyle a\) sugarú 60°-os körcikk és egy \(\displaystyle a\) oldalú szabályos háromszög területének különbségeként: \(\displaystyle T_{\rm körszelet}= \frac{a^2\pi}6-\frac{a^2\sqrt3}4=a^2\left(\frac{\pi}6-\frac{\sqrt3}4 \right)\).

A síkidom területe: \(\displaystyle t=\frac{a^2\pi}2-2a^2\left(\frac{\pi}6-\frac{\sqrt3}4 \right)=a^2\left(\frac\pi6+ \frac{\sqrt3}2\right)\). A háromszög területe \(\displaystyle \frac{a^2\sqrt3}4\), a kettő hányadosa: \(\displaystyle \frac{\frac\pi6+ \frac{\sqrt3}2}{\frac{\sqrt3}4}=\frac{2\pi}{3\sqrt3}+2\approx 3,21\).

Tehát a síkidom területe a háromszög területének kb. 3,21-szerese.
