Megoldás. Pontosan akkor van kettőnél több dobásra szükség, ha az első két dobás összege kisebb 4-nél, vagyis vagy 2, vagy 3. Ez három esetben jön létre: az első két dobás 1; az első dobás 1, a második 2; az első dobás 2, a második 1. Mindhárom eset valószínűsége 1/6^.1/6=1/36.

Mivel ezek egymást kizáró események, ezért annak a valószínűsége, hogy csak kettőnél több dobással jutunk célba 3^.1/36=1/12.
