Megoldás: A 0 és az 1 kivételével minden számjegy négyzete több, mint maga a számjegy, míg a 0 és az 1 esetén egyenlőség van, így ha a szám tartalmaz 0-tól és 1-től is különböző számjegyet, akkor a feladatban megfogalmazott egyenlőség nem állhat fenn. Tehát a keresett számok csak 0 és 1 számjegyeket tartalmazhatnak. Az első helyen csak 1-es állhat, a többi helyen pedig kétféle számjegy, tehát a megfelelő ötjegyű számok darabszáma 24=16.
