Problem K. 308. (November 2011)

K. 308. A certain brand of breakfast cereal is sold in three boxes of different sizes that also have different colours: red, green and blue. The red box is 50% more expensive than the blue box and weighs 20% less than the green box. The green box weighs 50% more than the blue box and costs 25% more than the red box. Which box has the lowest price per kilogram?

Megoldás. Legyen a zöld színű doboz ára \(\displaystyle x\) Ft, a kék színű dobozban levő mennyiség pedig \(\displaystyle y\) gramm. Viszonyítsuk a többi dobozban levő müzli mennyiségét és árát ezekhez! Készítsünk táblázatot:

ár mennyiség ár/mennyiség
piros \(\displaystyle 3x /2\) \(\displaystyle 4y / 5\) \(\displaystyle 15x / 8y\)
kék \(\displaystyle 15x / 8\) \(\displaystyle y\) \(\displaystyle 15x / 8y\)
zöld \(\displaystyle x\) \(\displaystyle 2y / 3\) \(\displaystyle 3x / 2y = 12x / 8y \)

Ezek alapján a kék és a zöld színű dobozos kiszerelés ugyanannyira gazdaságos, a zöld kettejüknél kevésbé gazdaságos kiszerelés.
