Megoldás. Ha a szorzat 9-re végződik, akkor nem szerepelhet a négy szám között olyan, ami 5-re végződik. Ez csak úgy lehetséges, ha a négy szám növekvő sorrendben:
\(\displaystyle 10n-3,\,10n-1,\,10n+1,\,10n+3.\)
Ekkor a szorzatuk:
\(\displaystyle (10n-3)(10n-1)(10n+1)(10n+3)=(100n^2-9)(100n^2-1) =10^4 n^4-10^3 n^2+9=10^3 (10n^4-n^2 )+9.\)
