Megoldás: Jelölje s a szerpentin árát, k pedig a konfettiét. Ekkor $s={100+p\over100}\cdot k$ , $k={100-q\over100}\cdot s$ , |p-q|=90. Ha p=90+q, akkor az első két egyenletből $s={190+q\over100}\cdot{100-q\over100}\cdot s$ , innen q=60. Ha p=q-90, akkor hasonló megfontolásokkal egy másik egyenlethez jutunk, annak azonban nincs megoldása.

Így tehát $k={100-60\over100}s={4\over10}s$ , ahonnan 10k=4s, vagyis 10 csomag konfetti áráért 4 csomag szerpentint lehet kapni.
