# Problem P. 5080. (December 2018)

P. 5080. By what percent does the average speed of the molecules of a sample of gas increase when the temperature of the gas is increased from $\displaystyle 27\;{}^\circ$C to $\displaystyle 159\;{}^\circ$C, if the gas is

$\displaystyle a)$ helium;

$\displaystyle b)$ hydrogen?

Megoldás. A molekulák átlagsebessége az abszolút hőmérséklet négyzetgyökével arányos. Így – mindkét gáznál –

$\displaystyle \frac{v_2}{v_1}=\sqrt{\frac{T_2}{T_1}}=\sqrt{\frac{432}{300}}=1{,}2,$

vagyis a növekedés 20%-os.
