Megoldás. Az elhanyagolható tömegű acélpálca meghajlását a Hooke-törvénnyel írhatjuk le: \(\displaystyle mg=Ds,\) ahol \(\displaystyle m\) a nehezék tömege, \(\displaystyle s=1~\)cm és \(\displaystyle D\) a rugóállandó.

A kis kitérésű rezgések periódusideje (ugyanakkora \(\displaystyle m\) tömegű nehezék esetén):

\(\displaystyle T=2\pi\sqrt{\frac{m}{D}}=2\pi\sqrt{\frac{s}{g}}=6{,}28\sqrt{\frac{0{,}01~\rm m}{9{,}81~\rm m/s^2}}=0{,}20~\rm s.\)
