Megoldás. Legyen \(\displaystyle S(n)=n^2+(n+1)^2+\ldots+(n+34)^2\). Azt kell megmutatni, hogy minden \(\displaystyle n\) pozitív egész esetén \(\displaystyle S(n)\) osztható 35-tel. Ezt \(\displaystyle n\) szerinti teljes indukcióval igazoljuk. Az első 35 pozitív egész szám négyzetének összege az ismert képlet szerint

\(\displaystyle S(1)=1^2+2^2+\ldots+35^2=\frac{35\cdot(35+1)\cdot(2\cdot35+1)}{6}\)

nyilván osztható 35-tel. Ha pedig \(\displaystyle S(n)\)-ről már beláttuk, hogy osztható 35-tel, akkor

\(\displaystyle S(n+1)=S(n)-n^2+(n+35)^2=S(n)+70n+35^2\)

is osztható 35-tel.
