Nézzük meg, hogy \(\displaystyle n\) egy-egy végződése esetén mi lesz a végződése a következő számoknak: \(\displaystyle 3n\), \(\displaystyle n^2\), \(\displaystyle 3n^2\), \(\displaystyle n^3\), végül \(\displaystyle n^3+3n^2+3n\). Ha \(\displaystyle n\) páratlan, akkor \(\displaystyle n^3\), \(\displaystyle 3n^2\) és \(\displaystyle 3n\) és így ezek összege is az. Ezért elég páros \(\displaystyle n\)-ekre vizsgálni.
