Megoldás. Az egyenletet a következő alakban is írhatjuk: \(\displaystyle 1001\cdot\overline{abc}=91\cdot101\cdot\overline{ac}\). Mivel \(\displaystyle 1001=11\cdot91\), így az egyenlet mindkét oldalát osztva 91-gyel kapjuk, hogy:

\(\displaystyle 11\cdot\overline{abc}=101\cdot\overline{ac},\)

\(\displaystyle 11\cdot(100a+10b+c)=101\cdot(10a+c),\)

\(\displaystyle 1100a+110b+11c=1010a+101c,\)

\(\displaystyle 110b=90(c-a),\)

amiből

\(\displaystyle 11b=9(c-a).\)

Mivel \(\displaystyle (9,11)=1\), így \(\displaystyle 11|c-a\). Mivel \(\displaystyle 1\leq a\leq9\) és \(\displaystyle 0\leq c\leq9\), ezért ez csak úgy lehetséges, ha \(\displaystyle c-a=0\), azaz \(\displaystyle a=c\). Ekkor pedig \(\displaystyle b=0\).
