Megoldás. A Föld által létrehozott gravitációs gyorsulás (egységnyi tömegre ható gravitációs erő) a Hold helyén

kb. \(\displaystyle 3\cdot10^{-3}~\rm m/s^2\). A Nap által létrehozott gravitációs gyorsulás ennél mintegy kétszer nagyobb: \(\displaystyle 6\cdot10^{-3}~\rm m/s^2\).

A Hold (a Földdel együtt) a Nap körül (is) kering, erre a keringésre ,,rárakódik" a Föld körüli mozgása.
