Megoldás. Amikor Peti siet, akkor kétszer olyan gyorsan megy, így fele annyi idő alatt teszi meg ugyanazt az utat, mint amikor sétál. Tegnap – mivel az út harmadánál váltott sebességet – ugyanannyi ideig sétált, mint sietett. Mivel ma többet sétált, mint sietett, így ha a tegnapi naphoz képest \(\displaystyle x\) perccel kevesebbet sietett, akkor \(\displaystyle 2x\) perccel többet kellett sétálnia. Az időbeli különbség \(\displaystyle 3x=6\) perc, így \(\displaystyle x=2\) perc. Vagyis a tegnapi naphoz képest (amikor is egyforma időt töltött sétával és sietéssel) 2 perccel kevesebbet sietett és 4 perccel többet sétált, így ma 2 perccel hosszabb volt az útja.
